Filmed over six months we meet the everyday heroes that go above and beyond to rescue trapped, sick and injured animals from deadly situations.
Saving Britain’s Wildlife follows the RSPCA in their battle to protect nearly a thousand different species of wild animals fighting for survival in the dwindling wild spaces left by our expanding urban jungle.
We witness the dramatic rescues of wildlife in danger, including a goose impaled with a crossbow bolt through the neck and a deer trapped upside down between two walls. We follow the twists and turns of their rehabilitation and watch the emotionally charged moments they are released back into the wild.

In this special episode of ‘The Dog Rescuers’, we join Inspector Anthony Joynes as he takes his dog-rescuing skills to Malawi. This isn’t the first time Anthony’s visited the country; Series 2 of ‘The Dog Rescuers’ saw the Merseyside-based inspector fly out to lend a hand to the Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA), the RSPCA’s sister charity. It was an emotional experience, and Anthony jumped at the chance of going back, this time with RSPCA vet Riaz Rhemu.
The episode follows Anthony and Riaz as they rescue a roadside stray, go undercover to investigate the illegal puppy trade, help out at an open-air surgery on World Spay Day and vaccinate an astounding number of dogs against rabies. Conditions are very different from those the pair are used to in the UK but there’s no time to waste so it’s all hands on deck. Can Riaz and Anthony cope or will the experience prove to be too much?

As a nation, we’re big fans of man’s best friend. Nearly a quarter of all British homes own a dog. Sadly, not all of them receive the love and care they deserve and some dogs are neglected or, worse, abused. Enter The Dog Rescuers.
Every day, these dedicated and passionate RSPCA inspectors – like Anthony Joynes – contend with dog owners’ abandonment and misuse of their pets, and spring into action on behalf of dogs in trouble, returning them to health, happiness and a loving new home.
This collection of heartbreaking but ultimately heartwarming tales follows the likes of puppy Clover, who suffered damage to her face and lips, and Flint, the Lurcher who’d been used for badger baiting and lost most of his tail. When all seems lost, the RSPCA’s dog rescuers are on hand, providing vital support to get Clover, Flint and friends the help they need and into forever families so that they don’t just survive, they thrive.
